FAQ

Who needs a Dubai tourist visa?+
Citizens of most countries need a visa to enter Dubai. Some nationalities — including EU, US, UK and many GCC nationals — receive a visa on arrival or are visa-exempt. All others must apply online before travelling.
How long does it take to get a Dubai visa?+
Standard processing takes 24–72 hours. Express processing (additional fee) reduces this to 12–24 hours. Emergency processing is available for same-day or next-day delivery.
Can I extend my Dubai tourist visa?+
Yes. You can extend a Dubai tourist visa for 30 or 60 additional days through the DNRD portal (uaeicp.gov.ae). Apply at least 3 days before your visa expires to avoid overstay fines.
What documents do I need?+
Passport (valid for at least 6 months), a biometric photo with white background, and a confirmed return flight ticket. Children also need a birth certificate.
What happens if I overstay my Dubai visa?+
Overstaying costs 100 AED per day in fines plus a 50 AED administrative fee after 10 days. You cannot leave Dubai without paying all fines at the airport. Overstays of 6+ months can result in an entry ban.
