Do You Need a Transit Visa?
It depends on your nationality and layover duration.
Free 96-hour transit is available to passengers of most nationalities if:
- You hold a valid visa or residence permit for the USA, UK, EU, or Canada
- Your transit is through Dubai International Airport (DXB)
Transit visa required if:
- You do not hold any of the above visas
- You wish to leave the airport during your layover
Types of Dubai Transit Visas
48-Hour Transit Visa
- Allows you to exit the airport and explore Dubai
- Valid for 48 hours from entry
- Cost: approx. $50–70 USD
96-Hour Transit Visa
- Ideal for longer layovers (2–4 days)
- Allows full access to Dubai
- Cost: approx. $70–90 USD
Which Nationalities Don't Need a Transit Visa?
Citizens of GCC countries (Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman, Qatar) and most EU, US, UK, and Australian passport holders can transit freely without a visa for up to 96 hours.
How to Apply
- Submit your application through an authorised visa agent before your travel date
- Receive your e-visa by email
- Present at immigration upon arrival in Dubai
